26th-30th April

Monday the 26th April

Today was an extremly busy day as tonight the group was filming the pre gig of Reverb 2010. I arrived at Coxes Yard at half 7 ready to watch the set up of the gig and the vision mixing being set up in the back room. I managed to get shots of all parts of Coxes yard from and i managed to get different angles of the students making the show. James handed out our scripts and as a group we all decided what parts of the script we were each going to say. As a cameraman and also focusing on the marketing side of the pitch i was chosen to chat about those specidfic parts of the script i spoke at the start about what software we would be editing our documentary including the format of the documentary and the DV Tapes we would be shooting on.

Tuesday 27th April

The day of the Pitch Had arrived and i was confident i could deliver my lines in a proffesional matter. However the pitch didnt go fully to plan as we didnt have any research on our powerpiont but we did on the Macs i also had to improve on my codes and conventions for advertising and marketing.

Thursday 29th April
In Johns lesson we leaned about how important primary and secondary research is in a pitch. We also leanrd aboutr some of the obsticles that can be found within the reverb show such as technical failures and alos the problems the group will face whilst filming away from college.We analysed other reverb documentaries to see what we could take from them to use in ours and also what we wouldnt want to use in our documenatary.

Friday 30th April

I Researched my codes for advertising and marketing and i also sent my image to Matt Olerenshaw so he could make our ID cards for switch production.

Monday 3rd May

Today was a bank holiday but the whole group met up in Stratford to discuss where we had come up to in our improvements on our own areas of our script. I found out some new marketing codes and conventions. I then emailed James my new codes and conventions for advertising for the rejuvenated pitch in the morning.


Tuesday 4th May

Our second pitch asttept was today and we all felt more confident now we knew what to improve upon. before we even started our pitch we all had a meeting in als to add in what we had researched and also what changes would be made to the script. We did the script and it got commisioned so our pitch target had being achieved. My codes found from ofcom had shown an imporvement of

Thursday 6th May

We did our first lot of interviews today and we filmed in the vision gallery we filmed Sophy Blount and Dave Reid we did these two toghether as they are the most important people in the crew of Reverb 2010 the interview was scrapped tho due to whoever was not speaking in the shot would look lost and a bit in the way we then did interviews individually.

Friday 7th May
John reminded us that we had to include all of our own work in our production folders. Including Treatments and Recces. We were also sorting out a schedule for intertviews and HND meetings.

19th April-23rd April

This was our first week doing our fmp in my group was James Blackburn, who was producing the documentary. Greg Clarke, he was going to be directing the documentary. Me i was going to be the senior camera man, Matthew Olorenshaw, he was going to be the technical manager, Daniel Schoreder who was goung to do the graphics and website side of our project and Olivia Box who was our production assistant.

James had already come up with an idea about doing a Top Gear styled race from Stratford to Birmingham. We explained to phil our idea about the race, which was met by negative views saying, it doesnt tell a story, there is no point to it. So we changed our focus to The RSC in stratford and how a show is going to be put on there. But because we had some issues getting contacts that idea was also thrown out of the window. Phil suggested that we did our documentary on the upcoming Reverb Show and that was our finally chosen decision due to the fact we could compare older documentaries on the same topic and we could also get way better more trustworthy more contacts as they where constantly a matter of meters away from us, plus we were mates with the people making reverb.
In Johns lesson we focused on the narrative structure of the documentary, e.g. the exposition, the complication and also the solution of the documentary. We had give the documentary a story, and a point of whay we where doing our documentary.

I was given the task of advertising with Matt O and we looked at trailers on Stratcast we also researched advertising on the college intranet so when everyone logs on to the network then they will see our image and they may want to come along . We also planned to advertise on Facebook so people from other areas of the regoin can come to stratford and check out the show. We had to get our advertising research for our pitch on the following it also had to go onto the powerpoint presentation
